Our body needs a lot of energy to carry out daily activities. That energy is derived from the food we eat. Our body transforms the energy that this food contains into a form of energy that can be used by our body. For instance, many of the high calorie nourishments like that containing sugar, deliver energy that lasts for less time. Furthermore, these food calories are unhealthy, since they get transformed into fats.

Healthy High Energy Foods

High energy food enables you to stay fresh throughout the day and can give you enough energy for completing all your daily tasks. These high energy foods are eggs, beans, meat, fruits and veggies, nuts, etc. Still, junk food, chocolate, sodas and other foods full of sugar will give you enough energy, but this energy will not last for the entire day. Beneficial high energy nourishments are nourishments that are rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, complex carbohydrates, and at the same time they contain small amounts of sugar, fats and cholesterol.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal contains complex carbohydrates and dietary fibers in the high amounts. This is a beneficial high energy nourishment since it reduces the speed of the process of glucose absorption and therefore, maintains high energy levels for the prolonged period of time. Oats also have vitamins and minerals, such as B complex vitamins and zinc.

Fruits and Vegetables

Cabbage, broccoli and spinach are nourishments that are high in vitamins and minerals and deliver a lot of energy to the body. For instance, bananas are high in fiber and potassium, and citrus fruits contains vitamin C, which is an essential vitamin that helps with exhaustion and enhances our immune system.

Beans

One of the significant properties of beans is they have a low glycemic index and because of that they are extremely beneficial for people suffering from diabetes. Furthermore, they are outstanding sources of essential complex carbohydrates and therefore are a great source of energy for the body. They absorb the bad cholesterol in the body and help to keep a healthy cholesterol level.

Other high energy foods are: red meat, poultry, carrots, apples, dairy products, fish, brown rice and brown pasta, potatoes, whole grain foods, bananas, nuts, peanut butter, apricots, figs, etc.
