This is a very common problem and there are numerous culprits for it. Injuries can cause sore lower back, but there are other causes such as excessive strain due to object lifting, muscle pain or vigorous exercising. We will see which other possible causes of sore lower back are.

One of the possible symptoms of the sore lower back is constant acute lower back pain, which remains even after lying down. If you are having this symptom, there are great chances that you have sore lower back. Another possible symptom is a numbness felt in the same lower back area. This may cause lower back to be immobile. Weakness is another symptom of a sore lower back and this symptom may have great effect over your life and make the activities you perform during the day very problematic.

Resting is the first thing you will have to do and this should continue for the several days. But after some time, or if resting is not causing any beneficial effects, it might be a good idea to do some of the suitable exercises. Several lower back stretching exercises can be very helpful in this situation. While lying on your back on the floor, push up with your back to the ceiling and this will relax and stretch your back muscles. Remember to do from 5 to 10 repetitions and they should be done very slowly. Next exercise is done while on the ground, left leg is at the calf and hands are interlaced. Next, the left leg should be pulled towards the knees and once in this position, you should remain from 5 to 10 seconds. The same should be done with the right leg as well.

These were two stretching exercises, but you can also do strength exercises that will make your abs strong and relieve some pressure off from the back. The pelvic tilt is done while standing against the wall, with the feet little apart and straight back. Then, while rotating the pelvis, move backwards and stop once you reach the wall with your lower back. Remain in this position for 30 seconds, return to the starting position and do the same again. The superman exercise will make the sore lower back muscles strong and it is easy to do. Just lie down on your stomach, spread your arms and then raise one arm. Stay in this position for five seconds and do the same with the other arm. Do this 10 times. We advise you to visit the doctor if you have sore lower back because it can be a symptom of some other disease, which is something that only a doctor can discover and treat eventually.
