We all know that focusing on bench press will increase the muscle mass in pecs and torso area. Also, running on treadmill should definitely burn a lot of calories. There are many workout types that utilize the scientific facts regarding physical development of the body. But what about old school strength training? Is it even viable?
Old school
Of course it is. To some point, it might be said that new age is doing everything to make the life of a person easier and that might not be something wanted, when it comes to physical activity. Simply put, if a person wants a strong and healthy body, there is no magical wand, which can do that over one night. There should be effort, dedication, mental awareness andpatience.
Old school workout can be done at home, since it is something that does not require the use of additional weight, although some weight will be used. In this case, that is only the weight of the body and in most cases, it will be more than enough. Why is that? Because there are experts who say that a person should be able to perform almost all physical actions and motions (simple and complex) easily and with the normal weight of the body. This means that muscle mass builders will have increased mass, but they will also be relatively heavier, which means that they might need more energy and slightly more time to do some things than those people with regular build.
Exercises
Push-ups – this is the universal exercise, excellent for almost all muscle groups and for building strength, stamina, endurance, even muscle muss to a certain point. It is slightly forgotten, but performing this exercise properly is not so easy though it has to be done, so that the exercise will be effective. The most important thing is to keep the spine, neck and legs all in one straight line. This will induce the highest intensity, not only in arms and upper torso, but also in the entire back area and abdominal muscles too. It also has to be said that this exercise can be done in so many different variations so that many muscle groups will be developed.
When it comes to other exercise that should be done, there are squats, sit-ups, crunches and pulls ups. These are some basic exercises which actually can create quite an intensive and effective training session. This means that people do not need technology much when it comes to certain things; all that is needed is hard work and enthusiasm.
