Omega 3

Many fish are full of omega3, for example mackerel, herring, sardines, albacore tuna, lake trout, and salmon, and again most of them are full of selenium and on top of that they have the added benefit of being low in saturated fat. All of these factors combined make them a healthy choice of food.

First Time Fish Eaters

For those people that are not keen on fish the best is to start off with fish like haddock, halibut and mahi-mahi and these can be mixed with a taste of a robust sauce or an acidic element such as lemon juice. If for instance there is a particular fish you want to try but know it is strong, you can soak it in milk which will neutralize some of the ocean flavors it has. See below for some wonderful recipes for fish.

Athenian Orzo Ingredients

There is a pasta that is the shape of rice called orzo and it makes a wonderful base for shrimp, tomatoes and feta cheese. You will need one and a half tea spoons of olive oil, one onion that is chopped up, four cloves of garlic that is minced, quarter of a cup of dry white wine, one can of twenty eight ounces of diced tomatoes, three table spoons of chopped up parsley that is divided, one table spoon of capers that are drained, half a tea spoon of dried oregano, half a tea spoon of dried basil, half a tea spoon of salt, a little pepper, a pound of medium sized shrimp that are peeled and de-veined, one cup of orzo and half a cup of crumbled up feta cheese.

Athenian Orzo Directions

Firstly you need to pre heat the oven to four hundred and fifty degrees Fahrenheit. After which you can coat a dish that is nine inches by thirteen inches with cooking spray and also boil some salted water in a large pot. Now you can heat a little oil in a pan and add the onion and the garlic until they become soft. The wine can be included for a minute after which you can add the tomatoes, as well as one and a half table spoons of parsley, a little salt, some pepper, the capers, the oregano, the basil, and the crushed red pepper. This can all be cooked for five minutes and then the shrimp can be added. It will take about two and a half minutes to get ready whilst you are stirring. The orzo can be cooked in the boiling water which will take about ten minutes. Once it is cooked it can be tossed with the tomato and shrimp sauce. At this point you can sprinkle with the feta and the left over one and a half table spoons of parsley. This can now be baked until the feta cheese starts to bubble which will take around ten minutes.
