Ground down beef can be used in many different recipes and most family members can be quite satisfied with a ground beef recipes. Ground beef gives us zinc, which helps with our immune system as well as protein, iron and vitamin B12.
This recipe takes around half an hour from beginning to end and will serve four people. It can be served with rice or noodles. You will need twelve ounces of ground beef that is 90% lean, you will also need three quarters of a cup of chopped up scallions and the same amount of chopped red bell peppers. You will need quarter a cup of breadcrumbs, six tea spoons of hoi sin sauce that is divided, four tea spoons of fresh ginger that has been minced, three tea spoons of canola oil that has been divided, two to four ounces of watercress that has been trimmed and half a cup of dry sherry.
Once all the ingredients are in place you will need to pre heat the broiler. While you wait for the broiler to heat you can gently mix together the beef, peppers, onions, three of the table spoons of the hoi sin sauce and the ginger. Make four equal rectangle patties and put them on the broilers rack. Cook them for four minutes on each side. Whilst you are waiting you can heat up a table spoon of oil in a pan and put in the watercress for two or three minutes and stir all the time. This can be put onto four plates then add the sherry and the rest of the hoi sin sauce to the pan and stir for a minute, now you can put the beef onto the watercress and pour the sauce from the pan over the beef.
Chile Verde Beef & Bean
You will need a pound of beef, a bell pepper, an onion, six cloves of garlic, one table spoon of chili powder, one table spoon of cumin that has been grounded down, quarter of a tea spoon of pepper, sixteen ounces of green salsa, quarter a cup of water, and fifteen ounces of kidney beans. You will need to cook the beef with the bell pepper and the onion on a medium heat and make sure you crumble the meat, this should take around ten minutes. You can add the chili powder, cumin, garlic, and cayenne just for half a minute or so, now you can include the salsa and the water and allow to boil, once boiling you can reduce it and allow to simmer for ten minutes, after which you can add the beans for a further minute.
