Muesli bars are very tasty, and they are good for you, which is a difficult combination to come across. The healthy muesli bar is wonderful for a snack in between meals and they are easy to make at home. This particular muesli bar contains half a cup of chopped up hazelnuts as well as peanut butter which gives it a great taste.

You can use any type of nut you like but preferably go for hazelnuts. Walnuts are very popular as well because they have omega-3 fats which lend a hand to uphold a good cholesterol level. You will need one and a half cups of cry cooking oats, two hundred grams of dried fruits, half a cup of chopped up hazelnuts, half a cup of honey or golden syrup, two table spoons of vegetable oil, half a cup of peanut butter, and one tea spoon of vanilla essence.

Firstly you will need to put the oats into a bowl as well as the dried fruit and the chopped hazelnuts and they can all be mixed well together. Now the honey can be poured into a saucepan and heated up with the vegetable oil, peanut butter and vanilla essence and this can be softly brought to the boil. At this point the hot honey can be poured into the oats mixture and mixed together. The combination can now be put into a baking tray which has been lined with foil. The mixture will need to be flattened a little so it resembles a large muesli bar in itself. The tray can be put into a pre heated oven at a temperature of one hundred and eighty degrees Celsius for around twenty to twenty five minutes. The top should look golden when it is finished and at this stage it can be cooled and then allowed to set in the fridge. After the setting process is complete it can be cut into slices of muesli bars.
