Fruit salads
Fruit salads are easy to make too, all it takes is a knife and a cutting board. Here are some of the delicious fruit salad recipes.
Over the Rainbow Fruit Salad
This salad is made from three cups of fresh mixed berries, like strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and similar, two cups of grapes, red or green, preferably seedless, three peaches or six apricots, two thinly sliced bananas and one cup of freshly made orange juice. All the ingredients, except for berries, are sliced and topped with orange juice. This salad, like most fruit salads, are best if refrigerated before serving.
Cinnfull Apple Fruit Salad
This salad combines four apples sliced thin, two bananas, sliced thin, two pears, half a cup of raisins, one cup of apple juice, one cup of yogurt, some vanilla extract and a pinch of cinnamon. Roasted almonds are optional.
Raisins should be dipped in juice and stored overnight and the fruit should be refrigerated, but not sliced yet. Shortly before serving the fruit is sliced thinly and topped with apple juice with raisins, yogurt, cinnamon and vanilla.
Tropical Paradise Fruit Salad
This exotic salad requires three cups of diced pineapple, three mangos, two papayas, three kiwis, two cups of sliced strawberries, two bananas, sliced thin, and one freshly squeezed orange.
Orange juice is mixed in blender with strawberries and mango until a smooth sauce is formed. The rest of the fruits are chopped and topped with the sauce. Optionally, the salad can be sprinkled with some coconut.
Rich and Dreamy Fruit Salad
The ingredients for this salad, which is an excellent source of fiber, protein, calcium and antioxidants, are four cups of blueberries or mixed berries, six peaches, four bananas, two cups of yogurt, two teaspoons of vanilla extract, and, optionally, chopped pecans or granola. The ingredients are mixed together in a large bowl and refrigerated.
Fresh and Tangy Fruit Salad
This salad is recommended for hot summer days because it is very refreshing and invigorating. It is also great if served for breakfast.
It is made from three medium-sized grapefruits, pink or red, deseeded and divided, three medium apples and some chopped walnuts.
It is recommended that all the fruit used for salads is fresh, preferably organic. Fruit should be chopped right before serving, and if it needs to be cold it is best to refrigerate it overnight before cutting it. Apples, pears and bananas turn brown easily and quickly, unless combined with citrus fruit or juice.
