It is a well known fact that everyone loves jelly. All the different flavors that it can be and the fun that it sites are just too irresistible for most. As young people enter into the world of unknown and start to learn how to cook for themselves they very seldom know the art of jelly making. See below for some easy, wonderful recipes to try.

Recipe for Prickly Pear Cactus Jelly

Firstly, you will need a pair of tongs and a bucket. Furthermore, you need to collect tunas after they have changed their co lour to a deep maroon. Once you have got them together you can slice them into two halves and put them into a pan full of boiling water for around half an hour. Once you have done this you can strain them very well. Next to do is gather one cup of apple juice, two cups of the prickly pear juice, just under three cups of sugar and half a cup of lemon juice. You will also need a quarter of a cup of sugar mixed with a parcel of Sure-Jell Light. From here follow the recipe on the packet.

Recipe for Grape Jelly

You will need five cups of sugar, one packet of powdered pectin and five cups of grape juice. Firstly, you will need to remove the stalks from the grapes and wash them thoroughly. Then you can squash the grapes and place them in a pan and cover them with water. Boil them for a couple of minutes then bring down the heat to simmer for around eight to ten minutes. Once this is done, you can extract the juice through a sieve. It is best to let this juice stand for the night so as to prevent the jelly from crystallizing. The next morning you can add the pectin to the juice and bring to the boil once again and keep stirring. Start to add sugar to the mix and continue to stir. Then you can pour the mixture into hot jars.

Recipe for Strawberry Mix Jelly

You will need two cups of water, two cups full of mashed down strawberries, one package of an unsweetened soft drink, and one package of pectin and five cups of sugar. Mix together the water, strawberries, drink mix and pectin on a high heat and boil, put the sugar in the mix for another few minutes. Once you complete this put it in your jars ready for the next day.
