Smoothie recipes are becoming more and more popular, in most shopping malls you will find a stand that offers some delicious smoothie choices and there are now even books dedicated to smoothie recipes. They are so easy to make, and you can basically use any fruit you like in them, combine it with milk, yogurt and ice and there you have it. You can experiment until your heart is content. They certainly can bring out your creative side and are great fun to do with the kids. The most popular is the mango and strawberry smoothie and the least favourite is the ones including grapefruit. However as said earlier there is no end to how much or how little you want to experiment with, you can try adding a little sugar, vanilla and even cream of coconut. The trick is, is to have a good blender. Most people will recommend the Vita Mix as it is a heavy duty blender. Vegetables can be added to the recipe, such as a carrot and apple recipe. If you like you can add a little honey to sweeten it up. If you want to boost up the nutrition levels you can try adding oat bran, almonds or wheat germ. Some people have even confessed to adding peanut butter to their smoothie recipe. If you want it to be a little thinner just add extra milk to the blend.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

You will need one cup of frozen strawberries, two cups of orange juice, one banana that is cut up, half a cup of milk, and two table spoons of sugar. Just simply add all of these to a blender and blend until it is smooth, by adding some crushed ice to it will give it that extra bit of yummy.

Blueberry Fruit Smoothie

You will need a carton of blueberry yogurt, one cup of milk, one cup of blueberries, strawberries or peaches which ever you like, and half a cup of ice cubes. The same as the recipe above just put it all in a blender and blend until it is smooth.

Healthy Orange Smoothie

You will need one orange that has been peeled and separated, three quarters of a cup of sliced up peaches, one cup of orange yogurt and half a cup of ice cubes. This can all go into the blender until it is smooth. You can swap out the peaches for a different fruit if you like.
