Introduction

Liver Sluggishness

Early signs of liver problems might be morning tiredness and headaches and sometimes digestive headaches. Chelidonum Majus can be used to treat symptoms such as nausea, gases and pain in the right shoulder blade. Jaundices, yellowish skin also indicates the use of this remedy. Those patients might suffer from intense pain and become irritated. Hot drinks, eating and pressure seem to improve condition in chelidonum patients. Pain feels worse on the right side of the body. Patients are sensitive to weather changes, touch and any kind of motion. This remedy might be combined with natrium sulphuricum, and sometimes lycopodium and bryon.

Bloating and sluggishness may be treated with lycopodium. These people feel insecure and arrogant at times.

In cases of elevated liver enzymes the right remedy could be natrum sulphuricum. Patients suffer from diarrhea, especially in the morning, and intensive cramps and pain. These patients are often the serious and responsible persons, often finding the symptoms exhausting. Bad weather and water worsen, and warmth and dry air improves the symptoms in these patients. Also, pressure and change of the position are known to be helpful.

Nux vomica treats digestion problems, constipation and cramps, often associated with the overuse of junk food and alcoholic drinks.

The artichoke (Cyara scolymus) leaf is traditionally used to ease the symptoms of liver sluggishness and digestive problems.

Barberry remedy (Berberis vulgaris) might be one of the best liver remedies. It improves the digestion and help detoxitating the body, being natural laxative. It’s used in patients who suffer from gallbladder inflammation or gallbladder stones and in cases of jaundice.

Dandelion (taraxacum officinale) is also used in patients experiencing inflammation of the liver and gallbladder. It could treat hepatitis, jaundice and dyspepsia. Some studies that dandelion root might also be used to fight some cancers.

Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) has been used as a liver tonic for centuries. It protects the liver and improves the regeneration of the damaged liver tissue. In western medicine, this plant is known to help in cirrhosis, viral and toxic hepatitis and ischemic injuries.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is known to relieve cramps and other problems associated with liver inflammation.
