Protein

Every person knows that protein is essential for various things in the body. A lot of bodily functions cannot work properly unless there is not enough protein. However, a person should know that there is a limit to how much protein intake is good for the body. If a person intakes excessive amounts of it he or she will experience various side effects. There are many factors that determine just how much protein is ok for a person to consume daily. Some of these factors are age, gender and lifestyle. Pregnant women should know that they need to consume 10 more grams of protein every day. Nursing women should intake 15 grams more than they should during the first half a year after giving birth. After six months, that amount should be 12 grams. Overconsumption will only increase the body weight.
