A lot of people are not aware that 75% of all population may suffer from yeast infection every year. 80% of all women have a strong chance of ending up with yeast infection at least once during their lifetime. One of the main problems with this infection is that it is recurring. A person might have cured it but it may come back in a matter of few years or even months.

Symptoms

When the yeast infection is recurring or chronic there is also a potential danger of some other diseases like diabetes and UTI. Most people do not know that yeast infection can be transferred to the partner during the sexual intercourse. The sex life itself may be affected if the infection is not treated right away. If the sexual intercourse causes pain, then there is a possibility of a recurring yeast infection. If that is the case, a person should treat it straight away.

Apart from the painful intercourse, other symptoms that occur quite a lot are itching and burning sensations on the area that was infected. Lots of people only use creams and prescription medicines not knowing that it will only cure the infection on the surface and do nothing about the root of the problem.

What can be done?

A person who suffers from recurring yeast infection over and over again needs to look for other ways to treat the problem. A person needs to tell the doctor if the medications are not working so he or she can prescribe her with some other medications. Antibiotics should not be used because there is a greater chance of the infection showing up again and that time it will be even harder to treat it. There is also a possibility that a person may become immune to antibiotics.

There are two ways to treat a yeast infection properly and they are cleansing of the body from within and treating both the infection and its symptoms. Both of these approaches are supposed to be done at the same time in order to be effective.

A person cleanses his or her body from within by making changes in her lifestyle and diet. Candida is the type of yeast that causes infection. Some of the things that may trigger it are alcohol drinking and too much sugar or carbohydrates in the diet. When that happens, the Candida will produce more than is needed and the body will not be able to handle it. Infection occurs when that happens. If a person treats only the infection and does not change anything in her diet or lifestyle, the infection will come back.
