Although there are no side effects to the professional teeth whitening and it is a much quicker and simple way to get results, it may have some downsides for certain people as not everyone’s teeth are exactly the same color. This could be a problem because once the teeth which are slightly different in color are whitened, either by a dentist or by a home kit, their difference will become much more emphasized and noticeable. On the other hand, whitening the teeth the natural way will not produce this effect and while it might take some time, it will be quite efficient.

Using Listerine or Peroxide to whiten the teeth

Both Listerine and Peroxide are products that are known to be extremely efficient in teeth whitening. Rinsing the mouth with them daily will show significant progress rapidly. And while Peroxide is possibly a slightly better solution, some people have difficulty adapting to its smell. But that’s no worry, because a mixture with equal quantities of both products is basically just as efficient and much less difficult to bear.

Using baking soda to whiten the teeth

Baking soda is also good for whitening teeth, but there are certain precautions one must take so that doing more harm than good is avoided. For one thing, baking soda is not to be used more than twice a month as it is quite strong. Also, making sure not to swallow any of it is highly recommended. With all that in mind, the way to use baking soda for teeth whitening is to mix it with water in a small cup and dip the toothbrush into the mixture and just wash the teeth with it.

If someone might not be as comfortable with using baking soda in this way, there are milder alternatives to achieve this purpose. Using two thirds of lemon juice and one third of salt shows incredible results. However, people who are on a slow acid diet and those with sensitive teeth should avoid this method. Even though this mixture is not to be swallowed either, some of it will inevitably go into the organism, which can be quite harmful for people on a slow acid diet. As for those with sensitive teeth, this mixture tends to be quite painful and unpleasant for them.

How does teeth-brushing affect the teeth color?

Proper teeth-brushing is enough to have a positive effect on the teeth color. Brushing the teeth more than it’s normal is not required as it will not improve the effects that it normally has in any way. However, people who do not dedicate the recommended three minutes to teeth-brushing will have to change that if they want to improve the whiteness of their teeth.
