General Data about Piles
Hemorrhoids or piles are one of the common medical conditions these days, caused by swollen or inflamed veins in the anal canal. There are two types of piles – external, characterized mostly by pain, but the patient doesn’t experience (or just small amount of) bleeding and internal piles, usually connected with bloody stools.
The conventional treatment includes high fiber diet, enough of fluids, rest, and non steroidal painkillers (NSAIDs) to ease the pain. Some of the patients have a surgical procedure (hemorrhoidectomy) to resolve the condition.
Natural Cures for Hemorrhoids
Some natural products might be helpful for patients suffering from hemorrhoids.
Dry figs, marinated in water over night should be eaten on the empty stomach in the morning and in the evening. Use both soaked figs and the water. Powdered mango seeds are used to ease the bleeding hemorrhoids. Use 1 to 1,5g of the seeds, two times a day. For sweetness, you might add some honey to the powder. Jambul fruit is a plant used with some salt to treat piles. Use it every morning, for 2 to 3 months. White radish is a well known natural cure for piles. Use 100mg of grated radish and mixed it with a teaspoon of honey. The mixture should be taken twice a day. If you prefer, you might make some radish juice, with some salt added, or make a paste of grounded radish in milk and apply it over the pile. It is proven to reduce the pain. Chebulic myroblan powder is used before bedtime. Half of a teaspoon in the evening should improve the condition of the hemorrhoids by morning. Also, the plant could be used to prepare deco-ct or make a paste for external hemorrhoid treatment. Turnip leaves juice is also used to treat hemorrhoids. Use 50ml of each: turnip leaves juice, carrots, spinach and watercress juice and give it to a patient suffering from hemorrhoids. Fresh leaves of bitter gourd should be juiced and mixed with one glass of buttermilk. Use the remedy every morning. You might also try to apply the paste of this plant to the inflamed piles. Ginger, freshly squeezed, together with some lime and mint juice, and some honey, makes a natural remedy for hemorrhoids. The fluid made of rubbed onion, some water and sugar, used twice a day, is believed to help the hemorrhoid patients. Sesame seeds might be used as the tea or grounded to form a paste. Use 20g of the seeds in 500g of water to make the infusion. Rice is rich in fibers and therefore great for diet in people suffering from piles.Other herbal remedies, used to treat hemorrhoids include: Plants that ease the irritation of the piles, like plantain and Psyllium seed shells. Natural calming herbs, such as aloe vera or witch hazel. The herbs used to reinforce the walls of the veins in the anal area (like bilberry extract, butcher's broom, haritaki, horse chestnut, jimikand, white oak bark, etc.).
