Wrinkles

Every person will have wrinkles because it is a part of natural aging process. In time, your skin will become less elastic, drier and thinner. Wrinkles first appear on the face, neck, and on the hands because those parts are exposed to sun. There are various factors which can affect your skin so it looks older. Smoking is one of the factors which can speed up the aging process of your skin. Excessive exposure to sun will make your skin dry which will cause the wrinkles to appear prematurely. Aging process cannot be stopped but there are some things you can do to help your skin looks healthy.

Facial Exercises

Your skin can look healthier if you perform facial exercises once in the morning and once in the evening. In order to minimize the wrinkles on the forehead, put the index finger on your forehead on the spot above your eyes. Pull down the skin and raise the eyebrow at the same time. For good looking skin around the eyes, try lifting the lower eyelids, but make sure the upper eyelids stay in place. An excellent exercise for the cheeks is to push the lips forward and make them round. Then stretch your lips and smile. To improve the skin around the lips, you should put a finger in your mouth and suck it as much as you can. After that, slowly relax the muscles. Each exercise should be done about ten times.

Neck Exercises

There are also various exercises for the skin on the neck. Put your index finger on the neck and pull the skin down and lift your head at the same time. While you are doing this exercise your mouth should be closed and your teeth clutched. Push the tongue against the lower teeth, hold it like that for about ten seconds and slowly release the pressure. Another neck exercise is to open your mouth and lower the lip as much as you can. Put fingers on the collar bone and point the chin as high as you can and then pull the corners of the mouth down.

Lifestyle

Since smoking accelerates formation of wrinkles, you should stop smoking. Well balanced and healthy diet along with exercises will improve your metabolism and blood flow, which will also make your skin healthier. Drinking plenty of water can slow down the aging of your skin because it will stay hydrated. Getting plenty of sleep can also have a positive impact on your skin, especially on the wrinkles under your eyes. Minimize sun exposure or use high quality sunscreens when you plan to spend some time outdoors.
