What is the Danish diet?
This diet, unfortunately, does not mean the dieter can eat plenty of Danish pastry. That popular delicacy contains much more calories than the Danish diet allows. Actually, the main principle behind this diet is the drastic cut in calorie intake. It lasts for 13 days on average, over which time the dieter is supposed to lose up to 26 pounds. The diet is very strict and if one thing is skipped or substituted, or if any deviation from the program is made, the diet must be stopped and should not be resumed for another three months.
After the 13 days are over, it is allowed to go back to normal eating habits but without overeating. If the dieter is still hungry after the meal, he or she is only allowed to drink plain water and nothing else.
All the ingredients and food items used in this diet must be fresh, the yogurt must be 100% natural, with no fruits or sweeteners added, and it is allowed to sweeten the tea or coffee with just one sugar cube.
