Yeast infection is a disease caused by the fungus known as Candida Albicans. This parasite usually breeds well in moist and warm areas, such as groins, vagina and mouth. Candida's overgrowth typically affects the vagina in women and penis in men.
Causes of Candida Yeast Infection
Candida is constantly present in our body, and normally it is not harmful. Still, concentration of candida can advance above the normal rate, and when that occurs, this parasite causes health problems. Uncontrolled diabetes, hormonal imbalance and extended use of antibiotic drugs is usually cause of exaggerated growth of candida in the body. This excessive growth of candida is known as a yeast infection, and can be a root of many unpleasant health problems.
Yeast Infection Side Effects
Side-effects of this yeast infection are: rashes, skin problems, weakness, loss of energy and itching.
Female Yeast Infection Side-Effects
When candida affects the vagina, it gets to be inflamed. Yeast infection can be very annoying, since it causes extreme itching. Scratching the infected area can only cause more difficulties since it can irritate the skin and even intensify the itching. Furthermore, this yeast infection can cause difficulties while urinating (painful urination is usually linked to yeast infection). This occurs because urine is acidic, and therefore, it irritates the infected areas of the vagina. Sex can be very unpleasant for females affected by yeast infection, as it leads to a painful intercourse. Alterations in the smell and color of urine are the most common signs of overgrowth of this fungus in the body.
Male Yeast Infection Side Effects
Yeast infection in men is usually an outcome of unprotected sex with the infected person. Skin of the penis gets to be sore, red and itchy. Furthermore, the penile skin may be covered in boils. Like in females, man can have white secretion that produces an unpleasant smell. Candida infection in men can have more serious outcomes since it can lead to prostate difficulties.
Yeast Infection in Intestine – Side-Effects
Candida can also be found in the bowel. When it grows out of proportions it can cause characteristic health problems such as diarrhea or constipation, bloating and gases. This kind of yeast infection is more common in men, and women get to be affected by this sort of yeast infection in very rare cases.
Yeast Infection in Mouth – Side-Effects
When it affects the mouth, candida infection is called "oral thrush". It causes white blisters in the mouth, and can also lead to a bad breath. Inadequate oral care and touching these sores can cause bleeding.
