Yeast infection is an infection caused by a fungus called Candida. This infective agent is, in majority of cases, the cause of vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina) and it can also lead to inflammation of the skin, nails and the oral cavity. Even though yeast can normally be found on the skin (particularly in areas of moisture such as the mouth and vagina) its uncontrollable growth causes unpleasant symptoms and inflammation.

Symptoms and Signs of Yeast Infection

The most prominent symptoms and signs of a vaginal yeast infection is redness of the affected area, itching and curd-like discharge. In some cases the symptoms may be very mild and the person simply neglects them. Additional symptoms of yeast infection include pain during urination/ sexual intercourse, moderate to severe swelling of the vagina, painful cracks in the skin due to dryness and fatigue. In case of yeast infection of the mouth a person may complain about redness of the affected area and a white coating of the tongue or other parts of the mouth. The person may also experience discomfort or pain while eating, chewing or swallowing. Yeast infection of the skin symptoms is a red and itchy skin rash. The infection can also affect nails (they become damaged, discolored, thickened and broken). In babies yeast infection develops in a form of diaper rash which features with itchy and painful skin rash.

There is a connection between yeast infection and several medical conditions. This is why it is essential to thoroughly examine patients suffering from yeast infection and try to identify the underlying cause. The infection can be treated properly and in some cases, be eradicated permanently.

How to Cure Yeast Infection Permanently?

This particular infection is rather hard to eradicate. This can be easily explained by the fact that yeast infection has so many trigger factors.

The symptoms are relieved with a lot of anti-fungal creams which are either prescribed or are available over-the-counter. The only way to cure the condition permanently is to apply a comprehensive holistic treatment in which the entire body is engaged in the process of restoration of the natural healthy internal balance. Unfortunately, the infection tends to reoccur especially if a person is already suffering from some other medical conditions such as diabetes. If one identifies the exact cause of the infection he/ she may prevent reoccurrence of the infection by keeping the trigger factor under control.
