Detox is short for detoxification, which is a process that people use in order to get rid of all of the toxic substances that are found in the body and offer a complete cleansing of the system. Oftentimes it is used in order to lose weight quickly.

There are many different methods that can be used when wanting to implement a detox diet for the body. A diuretic diet can be used, for example, along with the fat flush diet, an all liquid diet, or a liver cleansing diet.

Another very popular method is called the raw food diet.

What kind of detox a person chooses should be left to that person to decide, because they can all be tailored to personal needs. Therefore, it is probably best to consult a doctor first to see what kind of detox program would be best for a person.

How to start

The raw food detox diet is often called “foodism.” It is a diet that is made up mostly of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, dried fruits, herbs, and spices, and naturally, they are all eaten raw.

The first thing that a person must do is to get their body prepared for the diet. The best and safest way to do this is by slowly removing foods from the diet which are not allowed into the detox program. Therefore, it can be good to gradually wean one’s self off of meat and other such foods that they generally consume, for about a week before the diet actually begins.

In the first day of preparation, a person should replace one or two things they normally eat with fruits and vegetables instead. By the seventh day of this process, the person will have replaced just about everything and the detox diet will be able to begin properly.

It is also very important to plan a menu for the diet and not to just eat sporadically and randomly every day. The menu should be appetizing as possible, but of course, can only contain the raw foods that were previously mentioned.

However, all a person needs to do is search a little and they will have no problem finding very tasty recipes for the raw food that they are allowed to consume.

A person needs to be creative in order to keep from dropping the diet and in order to keep it as satisfying to the taste buds as possible.

After the menu has been created, it is then time to go to the store and do some shopping. After this step, the detox diet can begin.

The first couple of days are always the hardest, therefore it is very important to keep all temptations such as chips and other fast food and junk food completely out of sight. Will power is a very important aspect of the detox diet, however, one a person begins seeing result, it will become easier to stick to the plan because they will know that it is working.
