Emotions and Our Lives

For most people, emotions are just something that we cannot do much about since they tend to change fast, and even in a single day, we can experience vast array of both negative and positive emotions. Our behavior is largely affected by our feelings, so we will be more interested and feel better if our emotions are positive.

Our views of the world determine the emotions we experience, and so we are responsible for their creation. All of us have friends who tend to get upset at every single thing, or who take everything light and always feel joyful. Problems and stress are results of our reactions due to detected threats.

NLP Therapy

There are so many potentials of the situation in which we can feel certain emotions when we need them and basically regulate our emotions. This is what NLP, or the Neuro-Linguistic therapy, is trying to do. It provides emotional freedom due to the ability to manage emotions. The association between the emotional or behavioral response and external stimulus is called anchor. These associations happen naturally because the mind looks at the things around us and tries to make connections between things and this is done constantly. Due to this, we can sometimes think of a person or a perfume or something else when we hear certain music. When we see red traffic light, the majority of people would instinctively stop.

But there are negative anchors as well. For example, we can feel anxiety when going to see the boss or something similar. We have to control our emotions with the help from anchors and this is what NLP therapy is based on. Some NLP methods can trigger and create a link to an emotional state with the use of a stimulus, which is in most cases either touch or sound. By doing this, we can gather positive emotional states and call on them when we need them.

Also, we can eliminate the negative anchors so that in certain situations no triggers can cause the negative emotion. Every aspect of your life can be improved with the help of this technique. You will behave better, improve your relationship and you will learn more anchors when you see how beneficial they are. This can become your skill that you will practice all your life. The NLP method needs to think of the past emotions you have to anchor.

You can basically change emotions in certain situations. If some situation creates certain emotion, you can use them in other situation, where this emotion would be preferred. The emotion you feel when going on vacation can be felt when you go to the gym, for example. This technique will help you recreate your feelings and you will start to feel more positive right away.
