However, you can manage to eat three meals a day that are a little smaller than usual and incorporate a few snacks in-between the meals.

Nuts and SeedsIn just about any shop you go into you can find almonds, cashews, walnuts, brazils and peanuts all of which are high in nutrition levels. This is because they are full of fiber, proteins, mono-unsaturated fats, and antioxidants and also they are very low in carbohydrates. Seeds are also a wonderful source of nutrients. Seeds include pumpkin, sesame, sunflower and squash seeds are all low in carbohydrates. Many people will roast the seeds even though this is quite a chore. When you buy seeds double check the labels to make sure they do not have added sugars or fats.Raw Vegetables and Jerky

The best snack of course is raw vegetables such as mushrooms, green beans, bell peppers, tomatoes, celery, carrots, and broccoli as they are a great source of minerals and vitamins. You can make an easy salad just make sure you add a healthy topping such as a little olive oil. You can include a little of hard boiled egg or some tuna to add some bulk and/or flavor. You can simply dip the raw vegetables in a low carbohydrate dip or even some peanut butter. To make jerky all you need to do is cut some fat-trimmed beef or turkey into narrow pieces, and then marinate it in a liquid that is either salty or sweet followed with a slow, low drying process. This is a great snack especially for those suffering with diabetes. Make sure you buy meat that whole muscle meat rather than the processed, artificial meat.
