Kidney FunctionThe kidneys are organs that process blood to filter out waste products and extra water. During breakdown of protein, the kidneys eliminate waste matter and toxins such as urea, ammonia, bacterial toxins, hydrogen, electrolytes, heat, and carbon dioxide. Apart from this function, the kidneys control blood pH by regulating amounts of solutes and ions. They maintain body’s fluid balance by removing excess fluid from the body. The kidneys produce hormone renin and angiotensin which help to control the blood pressure. These organs also produce hormone known as erythropoietin that stimulates production of red blood cells. Another hormone that the kidneys produce is called calcitriol that regulates the levels of phosphate and calcium in the blood. Active form of vitamin D is created with the help of this hormone.Kidney Cleansing Herbs
