Laryngitis

Laryngitis is the medical term for the inflammation of the local box, commonly known as larynx. Laryngitis often appears as a result of some infections, irritations or overuse. The sounds are produced by the vocal cords that are placed in the larynx. In the case of the inflammation of these vocal cords, the sounds are distorted and the voice is hoarse.

Homeopathic remedies for laryngitis

It is very important to treat laryngitis promptly in order to avoid possible complications that may be serious. There are homeopathic cures that can be very effective in healing laryngitis. Different people respond differently to the same homeopathic remedy, so therefore, it is crucial to choose the remedy that is the most suitable for the person that suffers from this condition. The most beneficial homeopathic cures are aconite, argentum nitricum, causticum and kali bich, as well as phosphorus and spongia tosta.

Aconite is the most effective when the person has a husky or high-pitched voice that appeared as the result of a sudden fright or because of the dry and chill winds. In this case, laryngitis is usually accompanied by fever, dry windpipe, and croupy cough, and these symptoms are likely to aggravate during the night. In such case, Aconite must be used immediately. Another homeopathic remedy for laryngitis is Argentum nitricum. This cure is usually used in the case of chronic hoarseness of the voice, as well as to treat the loss of voice. Argentum nitricum is a remedy that most singers use to treat their voice when cough appears while they sing high-pitched notes.

Causticum is also a homeopathic remedy for the treatment of chronic laryngitis, and it is very helpful in treatment of soreness or rawness that appears in the throat, as well for healing of dry or burning sensation. If a person has a husky, hollow or cracking voice, or if the voice is very weak, causticum is highly recommended. People who suffer from laryngitis may also use Kali bich, the remedy which is recommended for those with total loss of the voice, or those patients that suffer from severe hoarseness that usually aggravates in the evenings. Furthermore, phosphorus is often advisable if the person has chronic laryngitis, which is marked by severe hoarseness and accompanied by dry or burning sensation and tickling cough. Phosphorus is also used if the sharp pain appears in the throat. Moreover, spongia tosta is another homeopathic remedy that helps in curing laryngitis. Apart from the most common symptoms of laryngitis, this remedy is used for the treatment of laryngitis whose symptoms are the constricting sensation in the throat, excessive mucus and great dryness in the throat.
