For instance, a person can buy petroleum jelly and that will treat the condition just as well. In addition to this, a person will need a pair of Lycra-based cotton gloves, which he or she will put on the hands after applying the jelly. It is best that this is done before going to sleep.

Apart from petroleum jelly, people can also use coconut oil or almond oil. These oils are considered to be excellent moisturizers. Apart from applying moisturizers, people need to avoid extreme temperatures. However, since no one can avoid going out during the whole winter people should protect the hands by wearing gloves when they go out. Applying the petroleum jelly to the hands before putting on the gloves is also good.

When they take a shower it is important that the water is not hot because hot water only makes the skin drier. The water should be warm and the bath should not last longer than 15 minutes.
