Unfortunately, miscarriage can happen to anybody. This condition can be regarded as very common, because every third pregnant woman can be affected by it. The most feared thing connected with this condition, apart from losing a baby, is the inability to have babies again. But this is not always the result of this condition. If a woman is bleeding from the vagina, this may be a symptom of miscarriage. Also the loss of usual pregnancy problems may suggest miscarriage, though this condition can also happen without any symptoms. Other symptoms include blood cloth, pelvis pain and cramping.
Causes
The most usual cause for the miscarriage is the relation between partner's sperm, the egg and genetic material. Other causes are weak immune system, infections and hormone imbalance. Chances of a miscarriage increase with age, multiple pregnancies and smoking. Some studies show that sex, stress or exercising will not lead to miscarriage. Unfortunately, once the condition is diagnosed, there is not much you can do. Result is usually the same. When you go to the doctor, he will try to diagnose the problem. He will perform several tests in order to diagnose miscarriage. In order to see whether the problem is connected with rhesus-negative blood group, blood tests are performed. The picture of the womb can be achieved by performing ultrasound scan. Early pregnancy increases the chances to see if the pregnancy is progressing in the usual way very low.
Complications
There are several types of miscarriage possible. Inevitable miscarriage suggests bleeding during opened cervix. Missed or delayed miscarriage suggests that the baby is dead. Bleeding while cervix is closed suggests threatening miscarriage. Baby can survive if the baby's heart beats are detected. Complete miscarriage is connected with a termination of pregnancy. Sometimes the pregnancy is terminated and sometimes it will continue. Some of the possible treatments include medicines, surgery and expectant management. Medicines which can be used are misoprosol or mifepristone. For the foul discharge from the vagina, women can use Zidoval. Always consult your doctor before you take any medications. The surgery is performed if the doctor sees no other possible treatment. Under the general anesthesia, the pregnancy material is removed from the womb by a tube. Some women have a problem with reoccurrence of miscarriage. This doesn't improve chances of the future pregnancy inability. Some of the causes of this problem include genetic problems, hormone problems, womb abnormalities and others. If you can, avoid smoking, drinking alcohol and eat healthy. This will reduce chances of a miscarriage. The physical problems after miscarriage are minimal. They last only 10 days during which tampons should be used. However, the emotional disturbance is much greater. Some couples decide to go for the another baby, while others are afraid to try again. Whatever you decide to do, just try to follow heart and do what you want.
