Zoladex is a medication which is used for treating the symptoms of breast cancer, endometriosis and prostate cancer. It can also be used before the endometrial ablation. Zoladex is an artificial hormone which causes the body to stop producing certain hormones for some time. It is not recommended for pregnant women because it can cause damages to the baby. Your doctor must be informed about your medical history because certain conditions may be worsened by usage of Zoladex. Such conditions include diabetes, osteoporosis, urination disorders, problems with spine and bleedings. Your doctor should also know whether you smoke or drink excessive amounts of alcohol.

Every medication has some side effects and so does Zoladex. Some of the side effects which are not considered to be dangerous are headache, sickness, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, perspiration, hot flashes, sleeping disorders, pain in the bone, swelling of the breasts, mild skin disorders, appetite loss, mood changes, dry vagina, impaired sexual abilities or increased sex drive. Your doctor should be notified if you experience some more serious side effects such as breathing difficulties, irregular pulse, pain in the chest, urination problems, faintness, nausea, muscle weakness, troubles with coordination or balance, confusion, fatigue, paleness of the skin and bruising.

The most common Zoladex side effects are changes in sex drive, fatigue, dizziness, sickness, excessive perspiration, sleeping disorders, appetite loss, diarrhea, hot flashes, enlargement of the breasts, tenderness of the breasts, pain in the abdomen, acne and headache. The side effect of Zoladex which are rare but can cause harm to your well-being include pain in the back, pain in the chest, breathing difficulties, irregular pulse, pain in the breasts, pain in the bones, blood in the urine or vomit, troubles with urination, fever, chills, extreme mood changes, severe headache, faintness, vision impairment, unexplained weight gain, constant fatigue, and swelling of the legs and arms. If you have just started taking Zoladex for the first time you may experience an allergic reaction. Allergic reaction to this medication includes skin disorders such as rash, irritation and itchiness, breathing difficulties, tension in the chest, swelling of the tongue, lips and face.

The side effects of Zoladex can be classified according to the parts of the body. There are side effects which affects the nervous system, genitourinary side effects, psychiatric, dermatologic, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory, musculoskeletal, metabolic, hematologic, ocular, endocrine, oncologic and general side effects. The patient can also experience hypersensitivity reaction in the whole body or on the spot where the injection of Zoladex was given.
