It is not uncommon for people to have dark circles under their eyes. However, a person who has them is going through some lifestyle changes that are not all positive. There are plenty of causes that lead to puffy eyes and dark circles and people need to know that when they do appear, there is need for some changes in lifestyle. People need not worry too much since there are various ways a person can get rid of them.

Puffy eyes and dark circles

It is mainly the adults that have dark circles and especially those that work. Some of the most common causes of this disorder are late nights, not enough sleeping hours, dehydration and even smoking. A person whose lifestyle is too demanding will have dark circles under his or her eyes and they are the most obvious sign of such a lifestyle. However, even a person with such a lifestyle can prevent puffy eyes and dark circles by making some small changes. How to prevent puffy eyes and dark circles?

One of the main reasons why people have dark circles under the eyes is lack of sleep. A person needs to know that sleep is important for various reasons but one of the most important is because sleep affects the rejuvenation of the organs. A person should get more sleep if he or she has dark circles or puffy eyes.

Placing tea bags on the eyes for a period of time helps in this situation as well. The tea bags should be cooled though.

Food & drink prevention

Food is important for a lot of things and it is no different when it comes to the condition of the eyes. It is important that people consume foods that are good for the eyes, like carrots. Carrot is good due to the fact that it contains beta-carotene and vitamins A, C and E. All the fruits that are of orange, yellow and red color are good for the eyes.

Drinking enough water is important when it comes to getting rid of dark circles and puffy eyes. Every person should drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.

Computer & TV prevention

Working in front of the computer or watching the TV for too long will also have an effect on the eyes. A person, who cannot avoid doing that, should at least make a break every 45 minutes and look outside for a while. Green environment is especially good for the eyes due to its soothing effect.
