A few words about the yeast infection
The yeast infection is the common name to the condition we also refer to as the infectious process caused by the entrance, or, to be more exact, of the fast abnormal growth of the fungus called Candida, inside the vagina. This fungus naturally inhabits the mucous membrane of the inner part of the female reproductive organs, but due to some causes, it tends to grow in number and spread over the mucous beneficial surroundings, and then the fungal infection takes place. However, the similar process is also very likely to occur in the mouth cavity, and in that case, it is referred to as thrush.
The oral thrushApart from the infants, the people who suffer from the diabetes, the individuals who wear the false teeth, the ones that are under the therapy of the drugs that annihilate the bacteria and the people who must use the chemotherapy as treatment are also more prone to be affected by this fungal infection. Additionally, if someone permanently suffers from the phenomenon of not so strong immunity, or if, related to that, not practices the healthy eating habits and is the victim of the sedentary lifestyle, he or she has also the increased chances of being affected by the abnormal process of the multiplication of Candida. The last one mentioned is the reason why this infection is so common among the infants, and it is also because of the depletion of the useful bacterial flora in their mouths.
This problem is most frequent in the infants and newborns; however, it can spread among the older individuals. Unlike the yeast infectious process that affects vagina, which has the itch as the most prominent following trouble of the condition, the most pointed out accompanying indicator of the yeast in the mouth is the pain. Besides the pain, there is also the presence of rather white formations over the tongue which could easily turn into the lesions and, consequently, into the little wounds, in the case of the advanced and not treated condition.
First of all, one should stay away from touching these lesions, although they cause the severe and intense irritation, which could be described as the burning ache and itch. And, the fingers are never sterile, so the touch is very likely to worsen the infectious process, which is already very stubborn, persistent, and tends to come back after some time.
Fortunately, there are a lot of the ways of how to deal with this infection, and, it could be said that the most popular and the most effective ones are focused on preventing Candida from reappearing.
