Even though pregnancy is a blissful experience by itself it brings many discomforts as it advances further along. This is perfectly normal, and there are some tricks for how to deal with the bad sides of those late stages of pregnancy although one will mostly just have to bear with them.
Insomnia is one of the down sides of pregnancy. Whether it is followed by constant fatigue or not, it is extremely frustrating. There isn’t much to do here, except make sure to relax before going to bed and avoid caffeine especially in the evening. The good old glass of warm milk can’t harm as well.
Also, insomnia can lead to complete exhaustion which can become quite unbearable. That’s why it’s also important to make sure and leave enough time for a nap every day. No matter how short it is, it is really beneficial.
The unavoidable and perhaps the most irritating problem following late pregnancy is back pain. The important thing here is to release the tension in the back. Taking hot relaxing showers, especially with the water falling directly onto the back, can be quite helpful. This can also be done with massages or a form of exercise called pelvic tilt which involves lying with feet flat and pushing the belly button towards the ground.
The pelvic tilt can also help with shortness of breath which happens because the baby presses the diaphragm as it grows. Another way to prevent shortness of breath is to try sleeping with the body in the upright position.
Pregnancy also causes some problems in the stomach and the intestines. These are things like heartburn and gasses and that they are completely natural. In fact, they an indicator of a healthy baby. Unfortunately, there are no magic solutions for this one. A glass of warm milk with honey might reduce the heartburn and lying down after a meal could minimize the gases but generally, one will most likely simply have to ignore these unpleasantries.
Another thing to ignore are the contractions. There is nothing to do to make them go away so one must simply get through them. Still, relaxing in any of the previously mentioned ways could relieve the discomfort sometimes.
Finally, an issue a lot of pregnant women face is the difficulty keeping their balance. It gets harder and harder as the baby grows and it is not rare for pregnant women to fall down. Trying to avoid the situations in which one is bound to loose balance is good to keep in mind. However, it still can happen and if it does, there is no need to panic since the baby is well protected inside the belly but there is no harm in visiting a doctor to make sure.
