Gaining weight, in theory, is quite simple. All you need to do is include more calories in your diet than you use daily. However, these calories should not be gained from junk and fast food you indulge in. Rather, you are to make certain changes regarding your lifestyle, including your eating habits, your general way of life and your overall awareness of your health and well-being.

First thing is, you need to ensure natural nutrition. Forget about preservatives, additives, fast food, etc. Focus upon eating fresh food, including fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, nuts and other, similar things. The meat you are consuming has to be protein-rich with the least fat possible, since you want to gain weight, not become obese. Peanuts, for example, are more than an adequate source of protein. All in all, once you start eating healthy, your body will start working better. This is bound to reflect upon both your mental and physical health. As you become more aware of the world around you, you will notice how you are changing for the better, since your skin will become vibrant and flawless, your eyes more colorful and your overall being more attractive and positive. Now, you need to combine this healthy nutrition with good exercises, making sure you gain the right kind of body mass and increase your weight in the right way.

Before you even start increasing your body weight, you should pay your doctor a visit, checking your current weight and asking him/her if it is adequate for you. Only if you are underweight should you be gaining weight.

As for nutrition in order to gain weight, as mentioned above, you need to eat the right food, rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, essential omega3 fatty acids and carbohydrates. Note that, since your nutrition will be based on completely natural sources, your weight increase will take place over a longer period of time. Nevertheless, you should always choose health over a quick fix. Thus eat 3 big meals with 3 snacks during the day. Avoid sugars, fatty and junk food.

Finally, you need to exercise and sleep enough. Sleeping regenerates our body and thus is crucial. You cannot gain weight if you do not let your body use all the nutrients you had given it during the day. Also, muscles you boost during your exercising cannot be formed unless you provide them relaxation during the night. Thus, make sure you sleep at least 8 hours a night. As for exercising, 30 minutes, 3 times a week will suffice, while you can walk and do physical activities every day.
