Acne is the most common skin problems in the world. There are many different options to get rid of them, but some of them can be quite expensive. For those who want to save up some money and tackle this frustrating issue in the privacy of their own home, here are several facial masks that are very efficient in the battle against acne.
Salt Mask
This mask is not really a mask, it's more a lotion that is applied to the face and rinsed after a while. It works on the same principles that make swimming in the sea beneficial against acne. Sea purifies and disinfects the skin, making it less prone to acne. This treatment requires only sea salt or table salt and some water. Two teaspoons of salt are dissolved in a large glass of water and left for 20 minutes. The water is then applied to the acne and left to dry up. It should stay on for 30 minutes, after which time it is rinsed. This can be repeated several times a week.
Baking Soda Mask
This is another simple and inexpensive mask that requires only baking soda and water. These two ingredients are mixed together to make a smooth paste, not too thick, which is applied to the freshly cleaned face and left on for a while, for example for 30 minutes or even for an hour. After the mask is rinsed off with warm water, in addition to acne reduction, the skin will be much cleaner, softer and smoother.
Yogurt Mask
Yogurt mask for acne combines one or two teaspoons of honey, heated up in a double boiler until it is softer, and one tablespoon of natural medium-fat yogurt. The ingredients are mixed at room temperature until the mass is even, and the mask is then applied to the acne spots and left for 20 minutes before taking it off with a washcloth. This mask can be used several times a week.
Oatmeal and Onion Mask
This mask may non smell so great and it is a bit more complicated, but it does wonders for skin prone to acne. One medium sized onion is peeled and grated into a puree, and one cup of unsweetened oatmeal is cooked and set aside to cool. When its temperature becomes comfortable, the oatmeal is mixed with mashed onion, applied to the face and left on for 10 to 15 minutes. If the mask is not thick enough to stay on, it helps to add some honey. The mask can be kept in refrigerator for future use for 7 to ten days.
Egg White Mask
In order to make this simple mask, the egg yolk needs to be separated because it uses only the white part. The egg white is whipped until it forms a smooth but solid mass, which is simply applied to the previously cleaned face and left to dry. People who have oily complexion should add some lemon juice to it for better results. After this mask the skin will be tighter and the red spots will be gone.
