Introduction to acne masks
If the acne problems a person is having have more to do with skin oil redundancy, enlarged pores and dirty skin, then it will be best to approach the problem with skin masks.
There are many acne masks that can be made with different components, but they all work the same way. These masks are meant to parch the skin and to get rid of oily skin and confine the pores.
It is important to clean the skin well before applying the masks. A good idea is to use a steam bath and a soft scrub to clean the face. It is also important to rinse with cold water because the pores will open up with warm water and then contract when rinsed with cold water.
An ice cube will work as well.
Even though there are many skin masks for acne that are available in stores, it is probably safer and even cheaper to make your own.
Making acne masks
For a great acne removing lotion, take one teaspoon of glycerin, half a teaspoon of lemon juice, one cup of water, and a half teaspoon of camphor lotion. This mixture should be applied and left on the face until it dries. It should then be rinsed off with warm water and then the face should be rinsed with cold water as well.
Another great mask can be made with apple and honey. Take a ground apple and mix it with about five tablespoons of honey. Apply this mixture to the face and wait for ten minutes before washing it off the face with cool water.
There is also a great lotion that can be made by mixing half a teaspoon of camphor lotion, one teaspoon of tomato juice and one teaspoon of honey. This needs to be applied to the face and kept on for 15 minutes and then washed off with water.
This mixture is also great for removing spots that are caused by acne. These spots should occur when a person has been trying to pop the acne themselves with their hands, which can usually lead to even great infections. That is why it is also very important to apply the masks with clean hands as well.
You can try this great garlic-based lotion as well. Take one teaspoon of fuller’s Earth, one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of carrot juice and combine it with half a teaspoon of garlic paste. This should be left on the face for about 20 minutes, and it should be fully dried by then.
It should then be washed off with warm water.
