Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the respiratory system. Complications caused by asthma are obstruction of the airflow and spasms or sudden contractions of the wall muscles of airway branches. They have significant antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal characteristics so they should have an important place in people\'s diet. Sea vegetables such as nori, arame and dulse have a lot of important minerals good for the immune system, and magnesium-rich food such as spinach, bean sprouts, broccoli, amaranth, beats and wheat germ help dilating airways so they are good for treating asthma naturally. Green tea, also helps dilating airways and alleviating asthma attacks, so it is advisable to drink it on daily basis. Another vitamin that prevents asthma attacks is Vitamin C found in lots of kinds of food. If there is a possibility, people should always choose whole food as opposed to processed food, and organically grown food as opposed to artificially grown foods. Food that everyone should avoid includes refined and artificially grown food, flour and products that contain flour which can aggravate asthma attacks, milk and dairy products which are full of cholesterol, red meat which causes cancer and heart diseases, especially the meat from commercial farms where animals are given lots of steroids and hormones.
