Easily spread bacteria called streptococcal bacteria causes the strep throat also called streptococcal pharyngitis. This disease is not very serious and you may suffer from it many times in your life. If you happen to get it, you may experience symptoms such as problems with swallowing, headache, fever, sore throat or stiff neck. Stiffness of the neck is caused by the swollen lymph glands that are located at the back of the neck. It takes a couple of days for this disease to be cured completely. You can use certain medications to reduce the sore throat and stiff neck.
The next condition usually affects people whose immune system is very weak, meaning people older than 60 years of age, young children and infants. This condition is called acute bacterial meningitis and it is caused due to the bacterial infection that is triggered by the inflamed spaces between the spinal cord and the tissue layers of the brain. People who suffer from acute bacterial meningitis may experience the symptoms like skin rash, seizures, sore throat, stiff neck, vomiting, fever and headache. You need to treat this condition as soon as you notice any of the possible symptoms, as this condition tends to leave certain complications on your health.
