Those typesof food which cause allergic reactions need to be avoided as much as possible.It is also very important to drink plenty of water because it hydrates theentire body and cleans the skin from the inside.
There is another myth, which claims that acne is associatedwith unclean skin. One will surely do good if washing the face twice a dayusing warm water and a mild soap, because by doing so he or she will remove allthe excessive amounts of dead skin cells and sebum which are associated withacne. It is not recommended to use alcohol based cleaners or to scrub the facetoo hard because both actions may lead to skin irritation and can also worsenthe existing acne. One should not touch the face with fingers too much,especially the affected areas, because the fingers have certain types of oil ontheir surfaces. Hair needs to be kept off the face as well because it may alsotransfer certain amounts of oil.
One should choose skin care products very carefully.Products which contain low concentrations of benzoyl peroxide can be of greathelp in the treatment of acne. Face creams and moisturizers need to be waterbased, and the oil based ones need to be avoided. Heavy makeup should also beavoided at all times. Acne should never be squeezed!
