Exfoliators for Acne Prone Skin
Most chemical types of exfoliators actually contain various enzymes and acids which are used for the elimination of the dead skin cells and the exposure of smooth skin that lies underneath. These products usually come in the form of gels or lotions and most of them contain up to 2 percent of salicylic acid or beta-hydroxy acid. These chemical compounds are oil soluble so they may come in very handy when it comes to the treatment of scars and blemishes which are often associated with acne. There are also chemical exfoliators which are based on alpha hydroxy acids and there are also those which are based on retinol. Retinol is one of the many variants of vitamin A and it is very efficient in boosting the overall health of the skin. There are also numerous different types of chemical peels which are commonly based on trichloroacetic acid, hydroquinone and glycolic acid. Natural exfoliators can be made by using apples and honey in order to prepare a very efficient fruit mask. Rose wood oil and lavender essential oil may also be of great help when used for the same purposes. A quality moisturizer always needs to be applied after the exfoliation.
