Tips for the avoidance of dry skin
One of the most important things that one can do is to increase the amount of water that you consume. Drink as much water as possible within reason. It is recommended that one drinks about eight glasses of water each day. This should help to properly hydrate your skin and body. If you are active, try to drink a particularly large amount of water. The more active you are, the more water you should drink.
With regard to the body, it might be a good idea to add some oil to your bath. In order to do this, add a tabke spoon of some essential oils to your bath water. Jojoba, almond, hazelnut, and olive oil are all great options when it comes to adding to your bath oil. Before adding the oils to the bath, make sure to allow yourself to soak in the water for about five minutes. If one soaks in the water prior to adding the oil, it will help to plump up the skin. Putting in the oil will then help to seal in the moisture added by the oil.

Make sure to protect your skin as much as possible from harsh weather conditions. Wind, cold, sun, and extremes of heat can all lead to dehydration of the skin. In order to do so, apply a moisturizer. This will help to provide the skin with some protection from the elements. In addition to this, one might also try to avoid contact with hot water as much as possible. Long, hot showers and baths can serve to cause dehydration to occur in the skin. Try not to wash your face too often. If you feel it is necessary, add some herbal facial splash or toner to the water with which you are washing the face. Another way that one can increase hydration is to increase the amount of EFAs in your diet.
