Herbs that are helpful in the treatment of prostate problems

Problems with prostate can be treated in various ways, but besides the medicines, which are most common used, certain herbs can help in the treatment as well. The reason why many people much rather choose them over medicines lies in the fact that, unlike medications, herbal remedies and the treatment with herbs do not have side effects, at least not serious ones.

Among the most worrying unwanted effects that the men fear of are erectile dysfunction and painful ejaculation, and the majority of medications for the prostate problems are known for these side effects exactly. A widely used and very popular in the treatment of various problems with prostate is herb called saw palmetto. Having in mind that dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is responsible for the enlargement of the prostate gland, the reason why this herb is very useful lies in beta sisterol, its ingredient that is responsible for conversion of a male hormone testosterone to (DHT).

Red clover has also proven to be helpful in the treatment of problems with the prostate, which is because of the powerful antioxidants that it contains and because it also prevents the formation of DHT. Other herbs that are also helpful are stinging nettle, rye pollen, and pygeum africanum, while a substance called lycopene, which can be found only in cooked products made of tomato, has also shown very good results in the treatment of these problems.

In some cases, the mentioned herbs are used in the combination in order to give better results, but people who plan to use them, have to bear in mind that it is important to visit the doctor as soon as they notice the first symptoms, because the sooner the disease is diagnosed, the easier and faster it will be treated.
