Some of the most common symptoms are pain in the abdomen, bloating, nausea, burning sensation in the abdomen, constipation, vomiting, diarrhea and heartburn. There is also the feeling of fullness after a person have not eaten that much.

Food for upset stomach

The best cure for an upset stomach is a proper diet and a person needs to ensure that he or she is eating the right food in that situation. Proper food will aid the digestive system in its recovery. Experts always advise a Brat diet which consists mainly of bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Apart from these foods a person should also consume fresh fruits and vegetables, dietary fiber foods and foods that are low in fat and cholesterol. Caffeine and milk should be avoided until the digestive system has made a recovery. Nuts, spices, alcohol and tomatoes are some of the foods that should be avoided as well.

Bananas

This fruit is very good for an upset stomach because they are easily digested and they also make a person feel full. Apart from that, bananas also have some important nutrients.

Ginger

This is probably the best food for an upset stomach. The reason for that is because it aids in the alleviation of nausea. Apart from that it contains a lot of antioxidants which are excellent for general health. Ginger can be consumed both raw and in form of a tea.

Apart from ginger and bananas, other foods that are good for an upset stomach are peppermint, oatmeal, chicken broth, apricot, peaches, rice, applesauce, chamomile and crackers.
