Facial skin is the first to suffer the signs of aging. Even in younger persons, the face is particularly susceptible to blemishes, like acne or allergies. In order to keep the facial skin clean, clear and tight, it is important to learn how to take proper care of it.
Every person is different and everyone has different skin. The process of trial and error is, unfortunately, necessary in discovering what is the best solution for a particular skin type. However, there are some basic guidelines that work pretty much for everyone.
Cleansing
Make-up is something that most women use to a certain extent. It does not matter if it is only a sheer foundation and some mascara or the face is completely covered with it, the make-up must be removed before going to bed. The question is, which make-up removal products are the best? This, again, depends on the skin type but the general rule is that the product used for removing the make-up should be gentle and with as little chemicals as possible.
After the make-up is removed, the face needs to be cleaned. This should be done twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, before bedtime. A good cleaner or facial wash should be able to remove all the dust and dirt particles accumulated on the skin during the day and also to unclog the pores. The product used for this purpose should match the specific skin type of the person using it. For example, people who have oily skin should avoid oil-based products.
It is recommended to use a toner after cleansing the face. A toner completes the cleaning process and it also refreshes the face and nourishes it with its active ingredients. Toners can be applied using a cotton ball, but it is better and much more pleasant to use a toner that comes in form of spray.
Facial masks
Facial masks should be used two or three times a week. There are many different types of masks, and it is best to try out several ones in order to find the one that works the best. These masks have different purposes- some deep-clean the skin, some moisturize it and some work against wrinkles. They also accelerate the renewal of the skin and revitalize it.
Moisturizing
Moisturizing is the last essential step in any good skin care routine. It is absolutely necessary to moisturize the skin according to its needs, but for most people the rule is to do it twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, after cleaning the skin. The purpose of moisturizers is to hydrate the skin and to keep it in good shape throughout the day. If the skin is not hydrated enough, it will suffer, and the signs of aging will appear much sooner.
The moisturizing cream or lotion should be chosen according to the skin type. People with dry skin must use the moisturizer designed for dry skin, and the same goes for the oily skin type.
