Causes of dry skin bumps
One of the causes for the outbreak of dry skin bumps is a condition called keratosis pilaris, which is a disorder is caused by keratin. Keratin is a protein in the body and when this protein forms hard plugs in hair follicles, keratosis pilaris occurs. The most common symptom of this condition is the outbreak of many bumps on the upper arms and thighs, as well as on other areas of the body. These bumps are of the size of sand grain and have pink color around them. Keratosis pilaris tends to aggravate during the winter and become better with the onset of summer.
Another cause for the occurrence of dry skin bumps lies in various allergies and in such cases, the skin is itchy, red and full of blisters. Dry skin bumps on skin or skin rash may also appear as the body’s response to the allergy. In the majority of cases, allergies are caused due to specific material, such as latex, or due to certain foods or weather.
Furthermore, eczema is also a cause responsible for the appearance of dry skin bumps.
