As you probably know, organic food has proved to be healthier and more eco-friendly than food produced by a standard conventional farming. It also has its economical benefits. Let's explore some of those benefits organic food can provide us.

Definition:

Organic farming is an agricultural discipline with a goal to produce food by maintaining fertility of soil and controlling the pest. None of synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, growth regulators or pesticides is allowed to use in this process. The goal is to produce the food as nature intended to. Organic farming is one of industries with an every-year growth and now covers almost 1 percent of all agricultural production.

Introduction:

This sort of farming originated back in nineteen thirties and it developed from anti-synthetic fertilizers movement. The roots of concept of this kind of agriculture lie in India.

Economical benefits:

First benefit of organic farming might be the profit. It largely reduces the total cost of farming, because it doesn't involve usage of synthetic additives, fertilizers and pesticides. It also preserves soil from eroding and losing its contents and properties and enables the farmer to use that soil for much more time, reducing the costs. Secondary economic benefit from organic farming may be the production of milk. Milk industry can take much more milk from cows when they eat organic food. Also, the health of those cows is proved to be better when they were fed organically.

Health benefits:

As organic food doesn't contain artificial flavours or preservatives or potentially harmful chemicals, it is obvious that consumption of organic food is much healthier than conventionally produced food. The other benefit is the nutritional value, which remains preserved in organic food, providing all the necessary vitamins and minerals to the consumer.

These substances make a great difference in health between people who use organic food in their diet and others who don't. By consuming organic food, a human avoids intake of potentially harmful substances and increases the intake of healthy ones. Recent studies revealed that consumption of organic food decreased the risk of developing many diseases, including heart attack.

Farming:

Since organic food needs much more care and much more time to yield, specialized farming skills, while the production is lower than in conventional farming, governments around the world had to provide subsidies to farmers in order to encourage them to turn to organic farming. Because of that, today many farmers adopted organic farming, providing the healthy and tasty food to people.
