Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic problem of the skin. This is an autoimmune disorder,which caused the redness and scaly skin known as the psoriatic plaques. These plaquesoften appear on the knees and elbows, and sometimes on the palms of the hands,feet, genitals and scalp. Patches of the skin may irritate, itch and become inflamed.

Patients experiencing this condition might suffer from a mild case of psoriasisor the condition might spread to the whole body.

There is no identified cause of this skin problem, but it has been proventhat these patients have a genetic predisposition for psoriasis. Stress,overuse of alcohol, smoking and medications such as corticosteroids are knownto worsen the condition.
