Pretty and safe from harm

Many are familiar with the concept of cosmetics from their first hand experience, which is quite normal and expected. But also quite useful is acquiring some more theoretical knowledge, since one may never know when it can come in handy. In this regard, the theoretical construct defined by the FFDC (i.e. the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics) act states the following when it comes to the definition of cosmetics as such:

Under this name presupposed are the specific articles which are intended to be rubbed, poured, sprinkled, sprayed on, introduced into or applied on one’s body for the purpose of cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, as well as changing one’s overall appearance, and also Articles that are meant to be employed as a constituent of the aforementioned articles, with the exception of soap.

Given the fact that, in the recent years, cosmetic products have been intensively and increasingly used by youngsters, the overall safety issue has been raised once again. Since cosmetic products are known to be quite easily contaminated by bacteria acquired from the skin, their ill effects have been under the public eye for quite some time now. Therefore, going to bed with tons of cosmetics, sharing it, scratching with a mascara wand, as well as the effect of aerosol fumes present the most prominent dangers related to the use of cosmetics.

Constituents that cause unpleasant side effects

Those “cosmetic-ingredients” which are known to have a tendency to cause irritation and other unwanted side effects are talc, dye, preservatives, and last but not the least fragrances. Due to this, it should not come as strange that in the last couple of years there has been an increase in the use of natural and organic cosmetics and cosmetic products. In this regard, the two most prominent safe-cosmetic categories include mineral cosmetics and hypoallergenic cosmetics.

The former variety has found its way to retail customers and consumers quite quickly, one may notice. And one of the reasons for this is that they are deemed as extremely effective but without, the ill effects of the more conventional products. Those women who have opted for organic products and non-toxic makeup are known to experience fewer breakouts since there is no ill effect in comparison to the one which is induced by, for example, preservatives found in the conventional cosmetic products. The latter variety has been confirmed by the makers and the experts to have the potential of bringing about allergic reactions far less than any other products available. In addition, products from this category are known for their most beneficial effect when it comes to those more sensitive types of skin. The secret lies in the fact that they are comprised of barely noticeable quantities of allergenic constituents (e.g. perfumes and preservatives), which are known to induce undesired irritation on the person’s skin, as well as various allergic reactions.
