Prevention and Treatment for Weakened Immune System during Pregnancy

Prevention is essential for maintaining a healthy immune system during pregnancy. Proper and well-balanced diet and intake of all nutrients is a must. Lack of some vitamins and minerals can be substituted with certain supplements. The doctor chooses the most convenient supplement for a pregnant woman. Mild exercises can be a suitable booster for the immune system but prior to engaging in any kind of physical activity a pregnant woman should consult her health care provider. It is also advisable for pregnant woman to abstain from any contact with people who are suffering from infections that can be easily transmitted.

In case the immune system becomes weak during pregnancy and a woman develops certain illnesses she is treated accordingly. The doctor always pays attention and prescribes only medications that are allowed during pregnancy and cannot do any harm to the mother or the baby.
