The importance of vitamins

Vitamins are absolutely necessary for our body to function properly and to be healthy. Vitamin B 12 and folate are also particularly helpful for enhancing the immune system. Vitamin C is a part of the process in which interferon, the protein that kill viruses and germs is created, as well as in revitalizing the cells that destroy the germs. The recommended daily dose is 200 mg a day. Vitamin E is responsible for the production of interleukin-2, the protein that contributes to the multiplication of white blood cells when the germs invade the body. This protein also fights bacteria and viruses, and the FDA has officially approved its use in the treatment of cancer, but only of some types, which also indicates the importance of vitamin E for the immune system. The recommended dose is from 100 to 400 mg a day.

All these vitamins can be found either in the form of a supplement, or in foods that contain them.
