Just like in any surgery, this type of surgery carries some risks. Those risks are infections, perforations of the uterus, irregular menstrual cycle and other problems concerning female reproductive organs. As we have said earlier, there are small or no chances of getting pregnant, but tubal ligation does not offer protection from sexually transmitted diseases. It is recommended to use condoms to protect from STDs.

There is also a price issue. The tubal ligation costs from $ 1,000 to $ 3,000 and some private medical insurance may pay for a part of the price.

This type of birth control is good for women who do not want to have children and it fully protects them from pregnancy.
