Some Common Facts Are Lies!

As it is the case with many different aspects of our lives, people tend to claim for certain things to be true, even if they are not. This way, we were all taught by our grandmothers not to cross our eyes since they might stay that way. Hopefully, today, we do not believe in those, superstition-like, assumptions. However, we believe in many different, yet similar things. Let us start with skin care. Namely, this aspect of medicine and cosmetics has reached its peak since never before have people been so obsessed with perfection than today. Thus, we have countless theories and claims about skin care, many of which are nothing more than plain lies and misconceptions.

Facts and Fictions Regarding Skin Care

For starters, there is the well known cucumber slices against circles under eyes myth. However, this has been proven to be false, since, cucumber, besides water, contains no nutrients capable of removing the dark, swollen circles below our tired eyes. If we are to seek answers in the nature, coconut extract would prove to be a much better alternative. However, there is nothing better than leaving your problems to professionals. Thus, put your trust in treatments which were created for these purposes and you will not regret it.

Secondly, there is a common belief that a good skin cleanser should produce foam. This, of course, is not true since, the substance used for creating foam in our shampoos and soaps is often harmful for us when in greater concentrations. In fact, the foam being so abrasive, this chemical is the part of many floor cleaners or even substances for removing grease from machines. Thus, if you can keep your face out of it, do it.

Thirdly, do not believe everything you see. Thus, if you see that there is no sun during the winter, be more clever than that. Rather, the harmful ultraviolet rays are still rushing through the clouds and into your skin. So, without thinking that there is no sun during the winter, be smart and wear sunscreen when going out, especially if you are on a mountain, indulging some winter sports.

Finally, once we start discussing facial skin problems, many fight them by drying their skin completely, since excessive oil is the cause of acne, pimples and zits. Extremes never reached compromise, so you might stop fighting cold by setting yourself ablaze. Be gentle towards your skin and avoid drying it excessively. Mainly, simply keep it clean and remove any dead layers of skin from its surface.
