Side Effects of Zymar

Contact your doctor as soon as possible if you experience any of the side effects of Zymar which are considered dangerous. Serious side effects may cause damage to the eye. Such side effects include severe pain in the eye, swelling followed by burning sensation of the eye, redness and vision impairment. Sometimes the symptoms of the eye infection may become worse. In this case you may experience discharge from the eye or crusting. Also inform your doctor if you notice any changes on your skin, such as rash or irritation. Other serious side effects of Zymar may include extreme sensitivity to light, swelling of the eyelids and persistent discomfort. Side effects which are not serious and which will not cause any damage to your eyes are excessive tearing, headache, mild irritation or burning of the eye and discomfort in the eyelids. You may also experience a strange taste in the mouth after you used eye drops. This side effect is one of the most common side effects of Zymar. Other common side effects include blurred vision, watery eyes, headache, redness of the eye, itchiness, and dryness. Some of the side effects may go away on their own after your body adjusts to Zymar.

Precautions

You should inform your doctor if you are allergic to any medications before you start using Zymar eye drops. Also inform you doctor if you are being treated for some other medical problem or if you are taking any herbal or vitamin supplements. Your doctor should know if you are pregnant or if you are breastfeeding. You should not wear contact lenses during treatment of the eye infection. It is also recommended to avoid coffee or any beverage which contains caffeine while using Zymar. Be careful how you handle Zymar, because if the container gets contaminated, you may worsen your infection. Keep the container clean and make sure it does not get in contact with your eyes, hands or any other surface. If you put too much drops in your eye, wash it with warm water.
