Myfortic is a medication which is given to a patient who has had a kidney transplant. It has an effect to the immune system so your body would not reject the new organ. Since Myfortic is an immunosuppressant, which means that it lowers your immune system, you may be at risk of getting sick during the therapy. Some of the side effects includes constipation, diarrhea, stomach disorders, sickness, vomiting, headache, fatigue, sleeping disorders, anxiety, faintness, pain in the back and has cough. Some side effects are similar to those of an infection which include fever, chills and sore throat. Myfortic may affect the urinary tract and cause problems with urination. Some of the severe side effects include unusual bleedings, lumps on the skin, fatigue, sudden loss or weight, skin paleness, blood in the vomit, yellow skin or eyes and discoloration of the throat and mouth.
The side effect of Myfortic can be classified as hematologic, gastrointestinal, immunologic, metabolic, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, dermatological, hepatic, ocular and psychiatric. Hematologic side effects include anemia, leukopenia, amplified blood creatinine, pure red cells aplasia, thrombocytopenia and reduced level of hemoglobin. Gastrointestinal involve nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, constipation and gastroesophageal reflux. Immunologic refer to various infections. Metabolic side effects include reduced or decreased levels of sugar or calcium. Musculoskeletal entail pain in the bones and muscles. Cardiovascular side effects include heart disorders, respiratory include cough and sinus obstruction. Dermatological side effects include different skin disorders, hepatic refer to improper function of the liver. Ocular side effects cause vision disorders and psychiatric includes anxiety, depression and mood changes.
